Just like other Barack buffs, a group of black NYPD brass trekked to Washington to witness the historic inauguration. But this contingent brought home more than just a few snapshots and some T-shirts. The effect of the top commanders' road trip to the nation's capital will soon become apparent on streets across the city. "Obama has reenergized us to encourage peo
ple living in the areas where we patrol that there is nothing that they can't achieve if they put their minds to it," said Inspector Tim Pearson, of Queens South borough command. Pearson, one of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement (NOBLE) executives who sponsored the trip, joined about 50 other officials on the bus ride down Interstate 95 to the inauguration.Read the rest of this inspirational story here
