LaDainian Tomlinson days as a Charger could be over

The San Diego Chargers have presented LaDainian Tomilinson with a restructured contract. This is reported to be their final offer to LT. This offer is far less money than Tomlinson would have made in 2011. He is scheduled to make 24 million in 2011.
We can look at this in two ways. The last two trips to the playoffs, the Chargers have underachieved. That's mainly due to Tomlinson falling to injury. San Diego should have played in at least one Super Bowl. Tomlinson, you feel you should make a lot and I feel you but as the saying goes, "Big players step up in big games". You haven't LT so take the money and reprove yourself.
On the flip side, if San Diego lets LT go, it will be the end of the Chargers being an elite team. No one will respect the Chargers running game and they don't have a fullback that knows the first thing about blocking so Darren Sproles will not be as effective as LT. Defenses will play the pass and eat San Diego up because the person they will respect most will be Phillip Rivers. Keep in mind what LT has done for you in eight years, but also keep in mind where you want to go as a football team as well.
