FEFE DOBSON RETURNS WITH "JOY!!"

Sophmore album due in stores this Fall!

FEFE DOBSON took the world by storm when she entered the music world as a 16-year old rock star in 2003. She quickly secured endorsement deals with the highly popular "Got Milk" ads and Tommy Hilfiger's campaigns. Fefe had songs placed in the score for the film, "The Perfect Score," and garnered numerous nominations and awards for her gold-selling debut CD.
A few years back Fefe was picked to play a young Tina Turner in the highly popular TV show "American Dreams" where she performed a riveting rendition of Ms. Turners, "River Deep, Mountain High."
Fefe's debut album was a favorite to many inside and outside of the music industry, so much so that American Idol Jordin Sparks has made of remake of Fefe's "Don't Let It Go To Your Head" for her current album.
Fefe Dobson embodies the rock of yesteryear. It's evident in her performances, her stage presence, her entire being. She gives you raw, soul wrenching, badass and fun all in the same breath and is now set to release her second CD, JOY, this fall on 21 Music owned by entertainment mogul, Chris Smith.
Six years ago, upon Fefe's debut release of her self-titled CD, Fefe Dobson, Fefe was touted as the "the next big thing" by the now defunct Blender magazine and Rolling Stone said of the singer and her sound:"Sassy' is the first word that comes to mind on hearing the ebullient music of FeFe Dobson, a precocious, bi-racial Canadian teenager.
Guitar-driven pop, informed by an appreciation of bands that range from various Jackson siblings to Nirvana, makes up the bulk of her eponymous debut." Now, in 2009, this petite powerhouse is no longer a teenager.


Fefe says of her journeys of song: "My debut album, Fefe Dobson, was definitely a first look into my sort of topsy-turvy world. I wrote about things that sometimes even made me feel awkward. I was not afraid to go there and open up about real topics and my unorthodox relationships. I wrote a lot about love and feeling love. As I started to wrok on material after my first album, I began to completely lose perspecitive for my music. Things were falling apart professionally and personally. I started experimenting - watching florescent lights go off in my eyes.
This was my way to escape and it was a very dark period in my life; needless to say that album never saw the light of day. JOY, is the first album I can honestly say hit the spot. I finally felt I had all the ideal elements in place."

In support of JOY, 21 Music has released two digital singles, "I WANT YOU," and "WATCH ME MOVE," packaged together and sold separately.
"I Want You," is about attraction and desire and has recently been picked up by VH1 as part of the promotion for the new TV show "Megan Wants A Millionaire."
Since the promotion "I WANT YOU" has seen an increase of more than 800% in single sales. "WATCH ME MOVE" is a party song but if you dig deeper you may find that it's a song about confidence and rejuvenation.
What's really exciting about "Watch Me Move is that VH1 recognized the potential of the song early and before the album was completed made it the theme song for the "Margaret Cho Show" and NBC used the song in the promos for the show "Lipstick Jungle."
Fefe exclaims: "I love the guitars in this song. They make me think of sun bathing on the top of a 1966 GTO!"
