New York, NY, July 20, 2009 – On Thursday, July 2nd the MSG Network premiered the new series “EBC Live at Rucker Park”. The 13 episode series is now underway, approaching its 3rd episode, giving viewers a courtside view into the world’s most recognizable Streetball Tournament, The Entertainers Basketball Classic (EBC). Airing every Thursday at 7pm and hosted by the multi-talented entertainer Michael Bivins & the amazingly beautiful and proudly Dominican Tahiry Jose; “EBC Live at Rucker Park” highlights the renowned tournament along with its players, coaches, announcers, celebrity attendees, and features behind the scene stories as the battle for the championship ensues.

This Thursday, July 23rd, the series most exciting episode to date will feature the tournaments second female celebrity-captain, “Voice of New York” Hot97 Radio Personality Angie Martinez along with her undefeated team, the Angie Martinez All-Stars and their legendary coach Tony Rosa. The episode narrates - the soon to be historic tale - of how Angie Martinez and the Angie Martinez All-Stars search for a leader brought them to Harlem native and EBC staple since 1996, Tony Rosa. It also showcases the new renaissance of Latino ballers, coaches and personalities in New York City’s Streetball world. The “EBC Live at Rucker Park” cameras follow Angie Martinez and her All-Stars as they battle to win the 2009 EBC Championship.

In addition, the weekly “EBC Throw Back” segment, which highlight's an event, celebrity or player that has impacted the EBC Tournament throughout its 29 year history, takes a special look at four-time NBA Champion Kobe Bryant. Kobe’s participation in the tournament was a staple in EBC history, marking the first time a reigning champion played head to head against elite streetballers. For founder Greg Marius, it was a moment that changed the face of how mainstream fans and professional athletes viewed, the nationally acclaimed tournament, forever.
“EBC Live at Rucker Park” will, without any turnover, provide viewers the opportunity to follow their favorite celebrities and sport figures as they battle on the hallow ground of Holcombe Rucker Park in Harlem, NY. Founded by former rapper Greg Marius, 29 years ago, the EBC tournament has seen its share of high-profile followers from all walks of fame and notoriety. Even with all the popularity surrounding the tournament one thing stays consistent, explains Franklyn Calle, senior online editor of Slam Magazine, “You can count on watching a high level of competition on the blacktop. Or should I say on its $45,000 rubber surface basketball court.”
