I am forced to write about this topic because it was brought to my attention, by a number of people, that women with bigger assets are not taken seriously. Let me start by saying that my Nicki Minaj post started this conversation I'm having with you guys. I received numerous comments and emails about Nicki Minaj's new body giving her a bad rap. Now, being I am guilty of having plastic surgery I couldn't make the connection. How can someone improving on their outer appearance warrant another person to not take them seriously? The response I received (from mostly women) is that men concentrate on one thing and that's the outer appearance. Then, maybe, after a few minutes of conversation can a man gather you are an educated woman. I agree to a certain extent because there are soo many variables I can place with that scenario. For instance, if you are wearing a tight fitting v-neck shirt with pants that were made only to give you a yeast infection then I can understand why a man is not paying attention to anything else other than your outer appearance. However, I have realized that when you carry yourself a certain way and wear things that compliment you yet don't reveal what your Mama gave ya....men will certainly pay attention to who you are during a conversation and not worry about how fast they can get you naked. I'm going to take a stab at it and say it's all about your image. It's about what you portray yourself to be to others. We are all guilty of judging books by their respective covers and men are no different. I feel, we as women, are not paying attention to our images. We see things on TV and internet videos and feel this is what we need to be and so we follow suit. Sadly, that is the wrong approach! Slowly but surely this next generation leaves nothing to the imagination and at no fault of their own. Sure it's nice to have big breasts, big hips and a big booty! But does the whole world have to know you have it? I'm a pretty well endowed female and no matter what I wear....whether it's a jogging suit or some skinny jeans...people are going to know I have something tucked under there. But as I said before it's all about your image. If you are prancing your goods around town and are on the internet bending ass over backwards so people can see exactly how many times you've been to the gynecologist then people are only going to recognize you for one thing and one thing only! Your ASSets! Now, in no way am I saying that women with lesser goods are respected or taken more seriously. I've seen some skinny women doing and wearing the nastiest things but I'm saying that unfortunately, us well endowed females, do have to take that extra step to make sure we are not giving off that vibe for negative attention. The saying is true "What you put out is what you get back"! Take a good look at yourself and say "Is this what I want to be"? Is this how I want the world to perceive me? And after you assess yourself, act accordingly!
I'm up for any discussions....so feel free to leave your comments! ;)
