Quick thinking by a seven-year-old California boy saved the lives of his parents and little sister after maurauding, gun toting thugs broke into his home.

He, along with his six-year-old sister, hid in the family's bathroom with a phone and called 911 to report the break in.

"Can you come really fast? Please! Please," begged Carlos.
"Send the police. Send soldiers too."

Seconds later, a scream is heard along with the voice of one of the thieves, later identified as one of three Hispanic men.

"Who is on the phone, fool," the man bellowed.

"911," Carlos told them.

As he was begging the 911 dispatcher for help, the thieves kicked in the bathroom door and found Carlos on the phone with 911 and took off.

The Norwalk sheriff's department said the brave little boy's action saved his parents lives.

"You could just hear the fear in them, crying and screaming for help," the female 911 dispatcher who talked to Carlos told KTLA Tv in Los Angeles.

"If not for the brave and educated actions of the 7-year-old boy, this might have ended tragically," said Capt. Pat Maxwell of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
