The active duty service member shot last week in a downtown Baltimore Hookah club has been identified as Sergeant Chase Henry Love, 26 of the 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Love, of New Orleans, was at Queen's Hookah Lounge in Baltimore celebrating with fellow Marines when he was shot while on the dance floor of the night club.
Love, a field radio operator,was promoted to his current rank on Dec. 1, 2005. He deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from February to September 2005.
Love, a married father of two, earned the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal while serving the Marine Corps.
Baltimore Police continue to investigate Love's murder and tell the Associated Press they are still interviewing witnesses.
The young Marine's family told WCTI-12 they plan to lay him to rest Saturday. A memorial service is planned for Saturday at 10 a.m. in Gretna, LA at the Davis Mortuary.
