Bill would mandate all N.J. Drivers involved in serious accidents to submit to drug,alcohol tests

A bill moving through New Jersey Legislature would change the way all drivers involved in accidents that result in death or serious injury are treated if Assemblyman Nelson Albano has his way, according to a report on APP.com.

Bill A-651, which is sponsored by Albano (D-Cape May) and Paul Moriarty (D-Turnersville), would require any driver involved in serious or deadly accidents to either concede to a Breathalyzer or give a blood sample to determine whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the accident.

"Testing for the influence of drugs or alcohol at the scene of an accident makes common sense," Albano told The Associated Press. "Not only would police be able to determine whether a driver was under the influence, they would be able to ensure that impaired drivers don't get back behind the wheel and will face serious charges.".....MORE
