Retired Hammonton Detective Charged in Fatal Hit & Run

Police say they now know who was behind the wheel of the vehicle that left the scene of a fatal hit and run Friday, leaving a 15-year-old boy dead, according to a report on APP.com.

Anthony Scaltrito, a retired Hammonton Police Department detective turned himself in to Hamilton Township Police Saturday night and has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and tampering with physical evidence, said Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel.
