His last name is definitely innocent, but he's not, according to Triangle area police.

Fritzgerald Innocent dodged Raleigh, North Carolina police once...for more than 15 years, but tonight he's in custody in Wake County after spending 18 years on the lam and living under an alias, The Associated Press reported.

Innocent, 42, was apprehended last year while trying to leave Haiti with a fraudulent passport. He was held for extradition back to the United Stated where he was wanted for a 1991 murder. The U. S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force returned Innocent to the U.S. Friday to face murder charges. Innocent was charged in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Yule Harrison in December 1991, but fled the area before he could be arrested.

Ray Jemone Crenshaw, Christopher Michael Wilson and Douglas McArthur Pace were all accused of participating in the murder. All three men were tried and convicted in Harrison's death and served prison time, Jim Sughrue, spokesman for the Raleigh Police Department told the Associated Press.
