N.C. Chapters of NAACP Rallied in Protest to School Re-Segregation, et al.

The North Carolina chapter of the NAACP plans to protest in response to the re-segregation of schools in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. The March was set for this morning at Marshall Park and involved other groups. A North Carolina judge reportedly called the move "academic genocide," as Charlotte-Mecklenburg school leaders have begun placing low-income students into the same schools.

The Fayetteville branch of the NAACP also met Saturday to discuss several issues such as voter disenfranchisement, educational funding, how African American residents are stopped and searched by law enforcement during traffic stops and the public school system. To find out more on the meeting, contact the Fayetteville branch Unit #5392 at P.O. Box 364, Fayetteville, NC, 28302 or Email then at: Jebux32347@aol.com. Their physical address is: 607 Murchison Rd., Fayetteville, NC, 28301. Telephone: (910) 484-6166
