Mr. Sipp’s name leaves no doubt where he’s from. A native of Bassfield, Mississippi, the 25-year old has been rapping since he was a teenager. A former member of two groups, his talent was recognized early and he enjoyed marginal success opening for award-winning artists Juvenile and the Ying Yang Twins. He now stands alone and is ready to release his first solo mixtape, From Summer Through Da Winter. It was recorded during a time when temperatures in the South were easily tipping into the 100’s. He took that energy with him into the booth and brought the heat found on every cut of his lyrical masterpiece. Although his music is hot, he’s one of the coldest artists to ever come out of the 601 area code.
Mr. Sipp describes his flow as hood Hip Hop. His music provides flavor for those who rep the streets and feel good vibes for those who just yearn for music that gets the party started. But Summer Through Da Winter is more than entertainment for people from any walk of life. It’s a foretelling of the beginning of a dynasty.
“Summer Thru Da Winter, is a metaphor for my career. I’m in the summer of my life right now. I’m young. I’m hustling. I feel invincible, like I can’t lose. Yet, I have every intention of making it to winter of my career. That will be years from now when I announce my retirement and I’m recognized as one of the greats in the industry. God willing, I’ll be one of the artists who helped to put Mississippi on the map,” predicts Mr. Sipp.
If the first single, HAM, featuring fellow lyricist Future is any indication of his ability, Mr. Sipp will be a success. He offers over an hour of music with other cameo appearances by Yo Gotti, and Pleasure P.
Mr. Sipp considers himself a student of Hip Hop moguls Lil Wayne and Jay Z. They inspire him to go hard every day but his greatest inspiration is his 1 year-old daughter, Jayla. With her to provide for, he is carefully plotting his course for industry domination. Follow Mr. Sipp as he travels through all the seasons of his career. This is only the beginning.
