One of the two men allegedly involved in the shooting death of Newark police detective Michael Morgan is in custody.
Investigators say Jerome Wright, 24, was taken into custody around 3:00 a.m. at a Holiday Inn near Philadelphia along with his 19-year-old girlfriend, Nashali Gadson. A shopping trip to a Newark Footlocker store helped police locate one of the suspects, NorthJersey.com reported. Morgan, a six-year veteran of the Paterson police department, was shot during an attempted robbery outside of the Sunrise Gentleman's Lounge on Straight Street.
