In Time For 11-11-11 Angela McKenzie Releases The Music Video For Her Official Remake of John Ashcroft's
"Let The Eagle Soar"
Showcasing Hardworking New Yorkers, Uniformed Personnel And A Cameo Appearance By Ashcroft
Since the Independence Day '11 release of Angela Mckenzie's remake of former US Attorney General John Ashcroft's song "Let The Eagle Soar"Americans are slowly but surely appreciating the beauty of the music and the patriotic message with non-partisan ears. Now they can also view the new music video through non-partisan eyes on YouTube athttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFHmbUCEYlA.
As we prepare to observe another Veterans Day, McKenzie asks Americans to set aside party politics, if only for one day, to honor the brave men and women who risked their lives to help the United States become the great nation allegorized by "The Eagle." She further encourages them to watch the video on YouTube, share it with friends on Veterans Day and over time learn the words of this patriotic hymn, which will undoubtedly make its' way into many American hearts and the history books.
McKenzie's day job is producer and presenter of the weekly public radio program"Initiative Radio with Angela McKenzie" which airs on affiliates of National Public Radio, Pacifica Radio, Public Radio International and college stations. Her journalistic skills have earned her the title of 2011 Peter Jennings Project Fellow for Journalists and the US Constitution and her vocal prowess has earned her high praise from John Ashcroft himself who says; "Angela's expression of "Let The Eagle Soar" is inspiring." "It will lift you as it lifts our nation." She produced the music video herself and believes that by letting the spirit move her, she was able to do a decent job, considering it was the first time she touched a video camera with any serious intentions. Her goal was to capture the story of hardworking Americans who are the nation's lifeblood, while showcasing some of the New York City views and icons that she often enjoys during her long walks through the boroughs. The mighty Eagle enjoys a few close ups of her own, while John Ashcroft makes a unique cameo appearance aboard the Staten Island Ferry. McKenzie and her musical partner Glen Roethel briefly appear near the end of video and it all wraps up with random text messages, that include lyrics from "Let The Eagle Soar," chapter titles from Ashcroft's memoir "Never Again" and a few personal shout outs from McKenzie.
“Let The Eagle Soar” was released by Initiative Radio Records as a digital download through I-Tunes,Amazon.com and most on-line retailers.
