Death to Religion

I've been asked, Orrin where have you been? what have you been doing? and why haven't you posted in so long? well my friends, I have been on a Journey, almost a mission of sorts.  For the last year and half or so I haven't been going to church. At first, it was because I was doing security and Sundays were my only day off so all I wanted to do was sleep.  As lazy as this sounds during my absence I would encounter people, different people who would approach me as if me not being in church would cause me to explode at any second. This Got me to thinking...As much as I Love the Lord, As much as I depend on him, I Orrin Carter Despise Religion and the Religious. 

At what point did the Christian Community become smoke and mirrors at a carnival event?   When did Christianity become a numbers Game? When did having more members, bigger parking lots,  a basketball court, and learning center make the holy trinity any more real than the group that holds church in its home?  Do I Love the lord anymore than you do because I tithe and you do not?  Do you Respect God more than I, because you where a suit every Sunday and I where Jeans?  Will God punish me more Because I sin Publicly and you in private?

I was once told that If Jesus walked the earth today that He would no more want to hang around the Holy (ier than thou) and the righteous (self) than I would., because the reality is there is more to "church" than suits, more to church than "business", more to church than fronts and appearances. We have a nation....a world of broken, lonely, and misguided people out here and we will never reach any of them not one single soul if not only can WE not get along in our own Christian community but be so divided on the philosophy on the same book WE ALL READ.  I do not believe the bible is open to interpretation I do not believe that the book we are all suppose to follow is here for is us to get "what WE want" out of it. Its Going to take us Getting on the same accord, the same page to change the masses and save the world. That starts with each individual person, each individual soul in the kingdom striving to be a better woman, a better man, and that starts today....
