Former South African President, Nelson Mandela, remains hospitalized at an undisclosed location in Pretoria Monday morning following his weekend arrival for unspecified medical tests.

Thus far, doctors have not released what caused the 94-year-old to fall ill, but have released a statement saying Mandela is "comfortable and in good care," according to the StarPress.com.

Mandela was admitted to Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg last year for a respiratory infection, and was discharged two days later.

Born Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela in 1918 in Mvezo, South Africa, the revered anti-apartheid leader spent more than twenty years imprisoned before being released in February 1990.

Mandela, the recipient of more than 200 awards, also received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. He is one of 96 individuals and 20 organizations to have earned the highly coveted award since 1901.
