Lola Monroe is a piece of eye candy that cannot be denied. The eyes, curves, and lips all speak to the type of woman that you want make your wifey and put a ring on it in the same day. She has more to offer though. Some of you have seen her on the biggest hip hop artists videos like: Kanye, 50 Cent, and more. She's not here to talk about that today though. She's here because of her desire to change the game of hip hop. She has a hunger and all of you other female emcees better take note of this bad sister right here. Beauty is the honey that brings you into her lyrics, but once her lips touch the mic..victory is for Ms. Monroe.

THEBUTMS: Who is biggest influence in hip hop? Who’s in your ipod?
Lola Monroe: Jay Z is my biggest influence in hip hop and that is based on how far he took one aspect of the industry he was in and made himself powerful and influential to hip hop all in all.
You can find various artists in my ipod but to narrow it down to a few you can find 2 Pac, Jay Z, T.I, Young Jeezy, 50, Lil Wayne,Common, Biggie, Kanye West, Fabolous, Jada Kiss, Nas etc…

THEBUTMS: I understand that you are African. How did that affect you growing up?

Lola Monroe: Being African did not affect me too much growing up because I have always been Americanized from the way I spoke to the way I acted so I didn’t stand out as much. I just always hated the negative perception people had of Africa especially Ethiopia. The first thing that would come to their minds is how poor it was or how they thought it was a jungle with women walking around half naked. In my opinion Africa is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Ethiopia is a country with a city part to it and the city has beautiful expensive areas as well as poor areas just the same in America you have the hoods and you also have the upper class areas. There isn’t but so much of a difference they just have more of a traditional culture that they follow strongly.

THEBUTMS: I am Nigerian, I know that life is a bit different over there. When was the last time you traveled back home?
Lola Monroe: Life is very different over there. Ethiopians are very traditional and follow the cult er very strongly. I was born there but came to the states when I was like 3 weeks old. I plan on going back there to visit with my mom maybe in a year or so.

THEBUTMS: Are you a fan of the Nollywood movies? What are your plans for acting?

Lola Monroe: Yes, I am a fan of Nollywood Movies. I star in a Nollywood movie called ‘Crazy like A Fox’ its sold at Blockbuster, Walmart, Amazon and all other major outlets. Im defiantly going to continue to purse the acting aspect of my career and take on roles that best fits me and the direction Im taking my career in.

THEBUTMS:There are lots of rumors about who you are dating and things like that…care to share anything with our readers?

Lola Monroe: When your in the limelight or considered a celebrity having rumors out about who you are dating or what you are doing comes with the territory. There have been so many rumors of me being involved with a few people in the industry that have been 100 percent false. I have only been involved on a personal level beyond friendship with one person in the industry.

THEBUTMS: What are your goals for hip hop?

Lola Monroe: One of my goals for hip hop is to be the representation and voice for the females out here that go through or have went through the struggle and grind and motivate them. My goal is to use rap as an art to express myself because that’s what Hip Hop is, its an expression of whats’s real out here whether it’s the struggle, the fly things or life all in all.

THEBUTMS: What type of guys do you like?

Lola Monroe:I like guys that are about their business, on top of their game and have high goals in life and wont settle for anything less. I like for men to have style, swag, and can enlighten me and keep me interested.

THEBUTMS:Who made you want to get into rapping?
Lola Monroe: My manger was an influence on me getting into rapping. After being around me 24/7 for a while she felt like this is what was meant for me to do hands down without a doubt. She was a motivation for me.
