Disturbances in the Tropics

We've been saying for a few days that the tropical activity in the Atlantic is slowly but surely showing signs of life. Take a look at the photo and you'll see just how active the tropics have become in just two days.
This morning Tropical Depression 2 was christened in the far eastern Atlantic.
Meanwhile, there are two disturbances closer to South America and the Caribbean that have the National Hurricane Center's attention. Both have a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone any time soon however one disturbance is already impacting the Lesser Antilles and the other could do the same later on this week.
In all of this, however, the one disturbance to really closely monitor is the thunderstorm complex currently emerging off the coast of Africa; located on the far right in the image above.
Computer weather models are predicting that this disturbance will develop into a tropical storm or hurricane over the central Atlantic by this coming weekend. It's something that weather.com will monitor closely over the coming days.
Still, even with this speculation, we must remember that this cluster of thunderstorms hasn't even been deemed anything as of yet! Time will tell.
