Announcement of funeral arrangements for Mr. Magic are as follows:The wake/viewing services will begin at 5PM on Wednesday October 7th at Interboro Funeral Home located at 544 Evergreen Avenue in (Bushwick) Brooklyn.
The Funeral service will begin at 10AM on Thursday October 8th at St. Barbara's Roman Catholic Church on 138 Bleeker St. Between Central & Wilson Ave in (Bushwick) Brooklyn.
Best part of the New York Times obit was the kicker: "Mr. Magic was often described as arrogant, although his on-the-air manner was smooth and warm," wrote Douglas Martin, who really seemed to get it: "When he met Magic Johnson, the basketball great, he said, 'The world is not big enough for two Magics.'" Which is pretty much the best possible thing that someone could say in that situation.
