The principal and assistant principal at White Station High School have been charged with a misdemeanor for failing to report an assault on school property.
Parents of a 17-year-old female student told police Sept. 18 that their daughter was beaten by multiple students. The affidavit of complaint, filed with Juvenile Court today, says a witness found the student “on the floor in the fetal position” and said the student had multiple bleeding injuries and was “crying too hard” to say what happened.
The parents reported the incident to police the night of Sept. 18. School officials did not file a report.
Memphis police have charged principal David Mansfield and assistant principal Eric Harris with failing to report the incident, a misdemeanor. They are to report to Juvenile Court Nov. 3. The charge carries a fine of up to $2,500. Full Story
