Ah, Halloween – that ghoulish time of year when it really is OK to be a wee bit inappropriate and offensive, especially if your offensiveness is tinged with comedy. The photo below is of the Berniw Madoff costume. Cheesy if you ask me.
In that vein, we initially thought of building a Halloween-costume feature that would focus solely on all the celebrity deaths of 2009.
After all, Halloween and death go together like a horse and carriage, and famous people have been dropping by the dozens lately. But then Kanye West happened at the MTV Video Music Awards. The "Illegal Alien" costume has everyone from politicians to immigrants up in arms. (photo below)
And Octomom came to mind (photo below). And Levi Johnston kept popping up in the news for one insane reason after another. In a flash, it became all too clear: 2009 has served up too much costume fodder. So, for your perusing pleasure, here's a mix of possible costume ideas for adults.

Some of these costume subjects are alive and well; some, sadly, are no longer with us.
Feeling squeamish? Aw, c'mon. Loosen up and have a little fun while you're still on the right side of the grass.
