Actor Charlie Sheen, son of veteran actor Martin Sheen, was arrested today on felony charges of domestic violence in Aspen, Colorado.
Sheen, 44, was booked into the Pitkin County, Colorado jail and will be held without the benefit of bond until his first court appearance. The statement gave no date for the actors initial court appearance.
A breakdown of the felony charges Sheen has been hit with are: second-degree assault and menacing, and a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief, all of which were "coupled with a domestic violence component," the Aspen police said in their statement.
The statement did not identify whom Sheen was accused of assaulting, but his
spokesman, Stan Rosenfield, said the couple "were spending time over Christmas vacation" at a residence of Mueller's family in Aspen.
Rosenfield declined to comment further except to say, "Don't be misled by appearances. Appearances and reality can be as different as night and day. It would benefit everyone not to jump to any conclusion."
Sheen and his wife have been married for almost two years and have a set of twin boys born in April 2009. Sheen is best known for his acting role in the movie "Platoon" and a womanizing bachelor on the CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men. Sheen has two daughters by his second wife, actress Denise Richards.
