Construction Worker Falls Three Stories in Jacksonville

Seeing Emergency Medical Service vehicles and Police cars in the downtown area is nothing new in Jacksonville, but seeing several of them downtown with blue lights rolling and lining the downtown streets beginning at the courthouse was very odd.

The blue and red lights ran all the way to the Riverwalk section of downtown where I noticed the fire truck from the Jacksonville Fire Department Station 1 along with more police.
As I rounded the corner, I saw the East Care Life Flight helicopter smack in the middle of Riverwalk Park, rotors going and all.Within minutes I see police and EMS pushing a stretcher towards the Life Flight Helicopter. Of course, this site drew a crowd of lookey-Lous as well as media.
Again, with the downtown area housing both county and city police as well as the main fire station, the courthouse and the old and new county jails, it isn't unusual to see police vehicles or flashing blue lights, but the Life Flight helicopter was a new sight.
No, it wasn't a drill.
Onslow County Sheriff Ed Brown announced that at approximately 10 a.m. today, a Hispanic construction employee who was working on the site of the soon-to-be new county jail, fell three stories and landed inside of the partially erected jail.
There is no word on the condition of the construction worker.
