The man responsible for the June 10, 2009 shooting at the Holocaust Memorial Museum that left guard Stephen T. Johns dead has himself died.
89-year-old James W. Von Brunn, a white supremacist, died of undetermined causes while he was undergoing psychological tests at a federal prison.
Federal Prison spokeswoman, Felicia Ponce confirmed Von Brunn's death saying the white supremacist was pronounced dead shortly before 1 p.m. today at a hospital near the prison he was being held at.
District's federal public defender A.J. Kramer, Von Brunn's attorney said he did not know the cause of his death or the circumstances.
Von Brunn was shot in the face by another guard after he opened fire on unsuspecting guard, 39-year-old Stephen Johns.
