JERSEY CITY, N.J. — A New Jersey man has admitted raping a 12-year-old girl after luring her to a North Bergen motel by posing as an MTV talent scout.
Forty-three-year-old Adonis Giron of Union City pleaded guilty Thursday to the aggravated assault on the Union City girl. It happened in October 2008. Giron was arrested after the girl’s parents learned of the situation.
Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Steven Dill said Giron used a flashy MySpace Web page to promote his bogus talent scout persona.
Dill said charges that Giron molested two 13-year-old girls were dropped when he pleaded guilty to the more serious charge.
Giron faces a 10-year prison sentence with no parole eligibility for 8½ years.
He is being held at the Hudson County Jail pending sentencing Feb. 26.
