An NYPD cop testified yesterday against fellow officers accused in the sodomy of a Brooklyn man - but told jurors he did not see an assault.
Officer Noel Jugraj, 31, said he heard Michael Mineo yelling as he was arrested in the Prospect Park subway station - but it wasn't clear what he meant.
"He stated, 'Y'all violated me, y'all violated me. I don't want to go to jail,'" said Jugraj. "Officer Cruz replied to him 'You liked it, you liked it.'"
Jugraj testified for the prosecution at the trial of Officer Richard Kern, who is charged with ramming Mineo with a baton, and Officers Alex Cruz and Andrew Morales, charged with covering it up.
But Jugraj said that even though he knocked down Mineo and was on top of him, he never saw Kern shove anything.
He also said Mineo had used the word "violated" when he was first stopped for smoking pot.
"Officer, officer, please I don't want to go to jail, I don't want to be violated," Mineo said. "I'm on probation, I got to stay out of trouble for six months."
Jugraj said Mineo, cuffed behind his back, was "digging" into his rear, possibly boosting claims Mineo injured himself.
"He said, 'Look, look, look officer,'" Jugraj said. "He had a dark substance on his hand. I thought it was either blood or feces."
Jugraj likely helped prosecutors show that Kern, Morales and Cruz let Mineo go with a summons so his injuries wouldn't draw attention in the system.
"This guy made us chase him, he ran from us. Myself, Officer Cruz, Officer Kern could have gotten hurt, could have gotten hit by a car," he said. "I was kind of pissed at them ... I thought he should go through the system."
