Irvington, NJ Man Shot, Robbed in His House

An Irvington man was tied up, robbed and then shot in his face after three people broke into his home Wednesday morning. The man, who remains unidentified by police, said two men and a woman rang his doorbell, entered and demanded money, NJ News.com reported.

Police received a call to the man's Stuyvesant Avenue apartment shortly after midnight when neighbors, who heard his cries for help, called 911. According to the report the victim gave police, after turning over an undetermined amount of cash to the robbers, a struggle ensued and the thieving trio tied the victim up before one of the three shot him once in his face.

The victim, who was shot once in the cheek, was taken to University Hospital, where his condition is listed as stable.
Officers were called to the apartment building by neighbors who heard the man’s cries for help, according to police.
