During an impromptu press conference in St. Andrew this evening, Jamaican police Commissioner Owen Ellington said former Tivoli Gardens drug over lord, Christopher 'Dudus' Coke may have more than extradition to the U.S. to worry about.

Ellington announced that Coke may face criminal charges for local crimes he committed if police are able to build a case against him.

Ellington said the cops who arrested Coke were acting on intelligence, which contradicts Reverend Al Miller's statement to the Jamaican Observer that he was attempting to transport Coke to the U.S. Embassy when their vehicle was stopped during a routine security checkpoint about 4:00 pm. Tuesday.

Miller, who was not detained by Jamaican police at the time of Coke's arrest, is now wanted for questioning, the Commissioner announced at the evening press conference. The Commissioner advised Reverend Miller to turn himself with his lawyer to authorities as he is a "major person of interest on a matter being investigated by police."

"From our standpoint we believe that he needs to come in and speak with us because there are some questions that he needs to answer," Ellington said. "The circumstances of Mr Coke's arrest is the subject of an investigation," said Ellington, who added that he was not aware that Coke intended to waive his right to an extradition hearing, which would send him to the United States where he was indicted last year on narcotics and weapons charges.

St. Catherine State-of-Emergency

Ellington also announced that "all individuals" involved in the May 24 attack on police that led to a state of emergency would be subject to investigation. "We are keeping our options open," Ellington said.
