Actor and former rapper, Ice-T (nee Tracy Marrow) was arrested Tuesday in New York City after police say he was driving on a suspended license.

1010wins.com has reported that the Law & Order actor was stopped by the NYPD while driving his 2009 Cadillac near West 40th Street and 11th Avenue on Tuesday when officers noticed he was not wearing a seat belt. Upon running a check on Marrow's license, they discovered his license had been suspended.

NYPD officials said the actor, a self-proclaimed former pimp, would be issued a ticket and released for the minor infraction.

Marrow, a native of Newark, New Jersey, made his gangster rap debut during the 1980s after he signed with Sire records and released his first album, Rhyme Pays. Marrow made television and newspaper headlines in 1992 when he was accused of glamorizing killing law enforcement officers with the release of his track "Cop Killer." The controversy caused Marrow to leave Warner Brothers Records in 1993.

Marrow, a four-year veteran of the United States Army, is now best known as fictional NYPD Detective, Odafin "Fin" Tutuola on NBCs Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He has been a cast member since 2000.

The 52-year-old actor's publicist did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
