"American Idol" winner and North Carolina native, Fantasia Barrino was hospitalized Monday night after overdosing on medication, North Carolina's NewsChannel 36 reported.
Barrino, whose condition was reported as "non-life threatening," was admitted to the Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville at about 8:55 p.m. Monday. A Newschannel 36 stated they did not know what type of medication the singer allegedly overdosed on or whether the overdose was accidental or intentional.
Barrino recently made headlines in relation to a lawsuit filed by a woman claiming the High Point, North Carolina native began an affair with her husband, Antwaun Cook, in August 2009. The woman, Paula Cook, further stated that her husband and Barrino often filmed their "illicit" sexual activity and her complaint says there is a sex tape that will back up the complainant's allegations.
Barrino's manager released a statement to web site TMZ, stating that Barrino is "certain that she is not responsible for the deterioration of Cook's marriage," but failed to mention the alleged sex tape.
