Official: Wyclef Jean to Run for President in Haiti

CNN has reported that Hip Hop producer Wyclef Jean will announce his intention to run for President of his native Haiti exclusively on CNN's "Larry King Live."

Jean, a native of Haiti,was one of the first celebrities to push for aid to his country after the devastating earthquake in January and has used his organization The Yele Foundation to gather much needed aid for his fellow countrymen.

Jean, who told CNN late last month that he has filled out the necessary paperwork to make a run for Haiti's highest office, and two friends shot to fame during the mid-1990s as a member of the award winning group, The Fugees, a U.S.-based hip-hop group that featured Lauryn Hill as the lead singer.

One of his more memorable hits outside of The Fugees has been his collaboration with Latino superstar Carlos Santana on "Maria, Maria."

Jean married Fusha designer Marie Claudinett in 1995 and the two adopted their daughter, Angelina Claudinelle Jean in 2005.
