A Los Angeles County family had quite a scare after finding out that a snake had been living inside of a wall heater in their new apartment.
The family's 15-year-old son told KTLA California that he was awakened by something biting him on the arm Monday night, and that wasn't the first time. He didn't know what it was until the family discovered a 2-to-3-foot Boa Constrictor curled up inside the wall heater.
The family, who live in the 6600 block of Ajax Avenue in Bell Gardens said the teen suffered superficial bite wounds.
Animal Control officials were summoned and removed the snake, which they said was not poisonous.
KTLA reported that the snake may have been living in the heater for quite some time. It was not clear whether the Boa Constrictor was a pet of the former tenant or slithered in from the outside.
