Paterson, NJ HP Commission & the 2010 Heritage Citizenship Awards

Paterson Historic Preservation Commission Accepts Nominations for
2010 Heritage Citizenship Awards

The City of Paterson Historic Preservation Commission is pleased to announce that
nominations will be accepted from the public for the 2010 Annual Heritage Citizenship Awards.

The Commission’s Heritage Citizenship Awards are awarded annually to individuals, organizations and business for outstanding historic preservation projects, public advocacy and community efforts to support and promote historic preservation in the City of Paterson.

The awards are presented at the Commission’s annual Historic Preservation Awards Dinner. This year’s 14th Annual Historic Preservation Awards dinner will be held at the Brownstone House in Paterson, NJ on Thursday, November 18, 2010.

Each year the Commission identifies the most notable and outstanding historic preservation
projects for Industrial, Commercial and Public Buildings / historic sites.

The Commission also considers individuals and organizations that have honored the legacy of Patersonian Grace George through notable community efforts to preserve Paterson’s rich history and promote historic preservation throughout Paterson.

This year the Commission is requesting the public to submit nominations for each of the award categories. Nomination forms and instructions are available for download on the City of Paterson website at www.paterson.gov, under the “Historic Paterson” tab.

Nominations must be received no later than Friday, September 17, 2010 at 4 PM.
Last year’s awardees included The City of Paterson, for Rehabilitation / Restoration of the
historic Eastside Park Horse Barn.

Recipients of the 2010 Good Graces Award included Hon.

National Historical Park; the Friends of Hinchliffe Stadium for continuing advocacy and efforts to preserve and promote awareness of the historic Hinchliffe Stadium; and Richard Polton, for
