The Department of Defense has announced the death of United States Naval Hospital Corpsman, Edwin Gonzalez, who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Gonzalez, 22, of North Miami Beach, Fla., died Oct. 8 of injuries sustained from an improvised explosive device (IED) in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Marine Division, Fleet Marine Forces, Atlantic, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
