A fire aboard Norfolk Naval Station in Norfolk, Virginia has been brought under control, The Associated Press reported.

The three-alarm fire, which occurred at a mostly vacant 62,000-square foot warehouse on Aircraft Tow Way, was reported around 10:20 a.m. Thursday, said Base Spokesman Kenneth Tyndall.

Naval Base firemen and Norfolk firefighters worked together, bringing the blaze under control around 2 p.m. No injuries were reported and base officials say the warehouse, which was being renovated for a new tenant, contained only empty boxes and wooden pallets.

The Navy has not said how or where the fire began and the blaze remains under investigation.
