Akron, Ohio is dubbed as the rubber capital of the world. Now it is known as the home to a rapper, army veteran, and record label owner name “Karis Duran.”
Duran is the owner of K Money Entertainment (KME), which is home to his friend/artist “Hustle Man." With Duran’s current single “Just Breathe” bubbling and his album currently in the works, Duran is stepping out from behind the office table to rekindle the flame for his long lost love of music.

Duran comes from a long list of musical family members and their musical notes trickled down into his blood stream. “I heard a lot of the blues and Temptations growing up,” said Duran. Some of his musical influences are Jay-z, UGK, Outkast, The Isley Brothers, and Ohio Players (of course). Writing lyrics since the age of 12 and recording his first track at 15, he is back to doing what he knows best.
Growing up, Duran continued following in his family’s footsteps by joining the U.S. Army. Once Duran finished his tour of duty, he used those army tactics to develop his own record label. “In the army, it is all about discipline, so I used discipline in the music industry” said Duran. Duran started his record label in Hotlanta (Atlanta) which is currently the hotspot for music artists.
Now Duran is leaving behind his own footprints, by going full force with his dreams. All of the advice he has given his artist; he will now be taking it in account for himself. Duran is ready to let the world hear his message through his music, while also building his roster of artists on KME. “I got so many messages, especially to single mothers and women of course…” states Duran. The future for Duran is his own hands because he is what the urban community calls “the man.” “I want to have 5 albums out and do some acting but music will always be my first love” states Duran.
