Casey Johnson Cause of Death Released by LA Coroner's Office

The Los Angeles County Coroner's office has announced that the death of Johnson and Johnson heiress, Casey Johnson was diabetes related induced by a lack of insulin. The report also stated that prescription drugs found in her system contributed to the socialite's untimely death.

Johnson, 30, was found dead in her L.A. home January 5 by her maid. She had been dead for several days.

The coroner's report stated that Johnson failed to take her insulin and her death was caused by diabetic ketoacidosis, a life threatening condition brought on by a lack of insulin and a rise in blood sugar levels. The findings of the LA coroner didn't surprise many who say Johnson consistently failed to manage her diabetes which put her into a diabetic induced coma twice before her death.

During the last year of Johnson's life, she made scandalous headline after headline as her drugging, drinking and erratic behavior grew increasingly worse. At one time, her mother found the young heiress living in squalor conditions with her daughter and assumed custody of her adopted daughter, Ava.

In December, the baby oil heiress was charged with burglary and receiving stolen property for allegedly taking $22,000 in clothing, jewelry and other items from friend, model Jasmine Lennard. She pleaded not guilty to the charges prior to her death.

Johnson was engaged to reality TV star Tila Tequila and co-authored a book "Managing your Child's Diabetes" in 1994 with her father, NY Jets owner Woody Johnson.

Last month, the Jets owner thanked players for taking the team within just one win of getting to Super Bowl XLIV during such an emotional time for him and his family.

"Under the circumstances, I couldn't be prouder of this team," he said. "I look forward to doing it next year. We just hope to be able to go a little further, one game further, and then on to the next one."

Casey Johnson's landlady called police moments after the baby-oil heiress's "ice cold" body was found on Monday -- even speculating that a medication screw-up may have led to her untimely death, according to a 911 call made public today.

The woman, who is not identified, dialed police after Johnson's body was discovered by a maid inside her Los Angeles home.

Authorities have yet to rule on a cause of death. Despite that, the woman speculated during the call that Johnson may have died because of drugs.

"Very often her medication gets all screwed up. It's probably because of that," the landlady told a police dispatcher during the call.

At one point during the two-minute call, the police operator asked, "You think she's passed away?"

The woman answered, "Yes."

The woman then described Johnson's body as "ice cold and her hands are turning blue."

LA cops have said that the Johnson & Johnson scion died nearly a week before she was found.

"Are you able to move her at all?" the operator asked.

"No," replied the landlady.

Johnson, the wild-child daughter of Jets owner Woody Johnson and great-granddaughter of the founder of Johnson & Johnson, was last heard from, via Twitter, on Dec. 29, and was found dead six days later.

A report from the Los Angeles coroner's office did not found any indication that Casey Johnson, heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune committed suicide.

Law enforcement officials told the website TMZ that the doctor who performed the coroner's office concluded there were "no anatomical findings" indicating the exact cause of Johnson's death.

Well-to-do socialite Casey Johnson who recently announced her engagement to B-list reality star, Tila Tequila, had struggled recently with a drug addiction, alcoholism and recent legal woes stemming from her alleged theft of $20,000 in jewelry and other goods from former friend, British supermodel Jasmine Lennard.

Radaronline recently reported that Johnson's "Fiancee" Tila Tequila was telling friends that she believed Johnson OD'd on prescription pills.

Reports have said that Johnson, who in 1994 co-authored the book "Managing Your Child's Diabetes" with father Woody Johnson, NY Jets owner, was not managing her diabetes properly which left her in a diabetic induced coma one two occasions. Johnson was 30-years-old at the time of her death.

Johnson and Johnson Heiress Died Sad, Lonely Death

She was known as a socialite in celeb circles, but to her parents, Woody and Sale Johnson, she was simply their daughter and mother of their grandchild, Ava.

Casey Johnson had everything, but her life seemed to snake into a sad, downward spiral the past few years as she went from the lap of luxury sliding into an abyss of drug and alcohol abuse and a life of squalor.

In early 2007, Johnson introduced her daughter, Ava, whom she adopted out of the Republic of Kazakhstan (formerly Russia). She seemed to emerge from her drug and alcohol fog announcing a new skin care line she founded called "Journey," but it was short lived as the young heiress returned to rehab several times and failed to kick her addictions.

her drugging, drinking and erratic behavior worsened.

Then, in 2009, Johnson's mother found her in a drug induced stupor, living in squalor conditions in her Los Angeles home with daughter, Ava and took action. Deeply concerned for her safety Johnson's parents severed financial ties with her in an effort to show tough love.

The move only strained an already turbulent parent, daughter relationship. Johnson, a diabetic, had been hospitalized twice and fell into comas and her behavior became more erratic.

Although not clean and sober, Johnson arrived in New York City attempting to fight to get her daughter back, but her efforts were token as her finances were in shambles once her father cut her off from a trust fund.

Then came legal trouble for the young socialite in November 2009 when she was arrested and charged with auto theft and grand theft for stealing $20,000 worth of jewelry and other goods from friend and British supermodel Jasmine Lennard.

In an interview after the burglary of her apartment, Lennard told the New York Post, "Since the day I met Casey, I have only been a good force in her life. She's been like a little sister to me. I tried to get her off drugs and alcohol. I tried to get her into a 12-step program. She breaks into my Hollywood apartment, masturbates in my bed... takes every thing in my apartment. This time she really messed with the wrong lady. I am going to teach her a lesson." Lennard vehemently denied ever having a sexual relationship with Johnson.

Weeks after her arrest for the theft of Lennard's belongings, Johnson announced her engagement to reality TV star Tila Tequila.

What exactly transpired in the days from December 29, 2009 to January 4, 2010 -- the day Johnson's maid found her dead in bed -- is unclear. Johnson was reportedly alive on 29 December because she tweeted about getting a new car. She sent a series of tweets beginning at 4:10 AM (PST) and ending at 4:13 AM.

Seven days later, her maid let out a scream as she entered Johnson's bedroom and found her dead. Officer Sara Faden of the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that officers arrived at Johnson's home around 11:50 AM on Monday and that Johnson appeared to have been dead for several days. "Her death appears to be natural, with no signs of foul play," said Faden.

Gossip web site, TMZ stated that Johnson's apartment was "littered with insulin syringes."

An unidentified friend of Johnson's said that Casey's family really did try to help the troubled heiress. "They supported her lifestyle for a long time, but, lately, they'd been keeping their distance from her, trying to show some tough love. I'm sure they're devastated and racked with guilt."

"She was a lost little girl who just wanted to be loved," said AOL's PopEater columnist Rob Shuter.

"She had a difficult relationship with her family's huge wealth. She loved the life it gave her, but it also made everything she did feel worthless. She once described her family money as the 'golden handcuffs.' She was the ultimate little, lost rich girl."

Family friend, Suzanne Webster, called Casey "a sweet but troubled girl."

"Her family was concerned over her well-being the past year," Webster said. "She had given them pause with her behavior, but I don't think anyone expected this."

However Johnson's life came to be, she died a very sad and lonely individual at the young age of 30. She leaves to mourn a daughter, Ava, two sisters, two brothers and her parents, Woody and Sale.

Heiress Casey Johnson Found Dead Monday

Casey Johnson, heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune and daughter of Woody Johnson, owner of the New York Jets football team has been found dead.

Details are sketchy at this time, but reports say her death was “a natural one.”

The 30-year-old heiress was engaged to Tila Tequila who tweeted her Fiancee’s death on her Twitter page: “Everyone please pray 4 my Wifey Casey Johnson. She has passed away. Thank u for all ur love and support but I will be offline to be w family…”

Johnson’s last tweet was dated 4:12 AM, December 29th and read “sweet dreams everyone... I'm getting a new car.. Any ideas? cant b a two seater cause we have a daughter...sedan, sports car, suv??”

In addition to Johnson’s struggle with alcohol and drug abuse, her personal life saw troubled waters beginning with an incident involving a former lover of Johnson’s, Courtenay Semel who set Johnson’s hair on fire after a dispute in January 2009.

Then in November 2009, Johnson was arrested in Van Nuys, California and charged with grand theft auto, jewelry theft and a gamut of other crimes regarding former friend and supermodel Jasmine Lennard.

Johnson’s most recent struggle was a custody battle with her mother, Sale Johnson who has custody of Casey’s adopted daughter, Ava, whom Johnson adopted in 2007.

Johnson’s status wasn't limited to "socialite who made 'shocking headlines.'”
At the age of 14, she co-authored a book with her Father titled “Managing your child’s diets.”

Johnson, who became engaged to reality TV star, Tila Tequila in December 2009, was found dead in Los Angeles on Monday morning. She was 30-years-old.

Johnson and Johnson Heiress Arrested, Charged with Grand Theft

Casey Johnson, the troubled heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune, is under arrest for grand theft after she allegedly stole dozens of pieces of clothing, jewelry and other items from a supermodel who had befriended and tried to reform her.

Jasmine Lennard said she was away from her Hollywood home for six weeks and returned 12 days ago to find her apartment had been plundered.

She told The Post that the thief stole jewelry, shoes, 600 pages of a legal document, clothing -- even her underwear.

The thief also left a bizarre calling card -- a used vibrator was found in her bed and a wet towel was on the floor.

Lennard suspected Johnson, whom she said had "been like a little sister to me."

Then she got a text message from Johnson's off-again, on-again girlfriend Courtenay Semel. Lennard is a friend of both women.

"There's a problem, Jaz, Casey Johnson just got into bed with me and she is wearing your underwear," the message read. "You need to call police. There are documents here, your shoes and your clothing -- you need to call the police."

Lennard called the cops, and they went to Johnson's Los Angeles home. There they found all of the stolen items, Lennard said.

Johnson was arrested at 12:30 p.m. yesterday in Los Angeles and is being held on $20,000 bail at a jail in Van Nuys.

Johnson is the great-granddaughter of the founder of the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical empire and is the daughter of Woody Johnson, owner of the New York Jets. Her godmother is Diandra Douglas, the ex-wife of actor Michael Douglas.

The 30-year-old socialite has been linked to several high-profile girlfriends, including Semel, the daughter of Yahoo! CEO Terry Semel.

Semel allegedly beat Johnson up and lit her hair on fire during a catfight at Semel's home. But they apparently reconciled and were seen together earlier this year.

Lennard said she had never had sex with Johnson.

"Since the day I met Casey, I have only been a good force in her life. She's been like a little sister to me," she told The Post.

"I tried to get her off drugs and alcohol. I tried to get her into a 12-step program. I tried to help take care of her daughter. I've given her money," she said.

"I am the only person who helped this girl, and I believe she was obsessed with me, and thinks in her mind we had some kind of affair. That is not the case."

She said she was outraged: "She breaks into my Hollywood apartment, masturbates in my bed, has a shower in my bathroom, takes every thing in my apartment."

"This time she really messed with the wrong lady. I am going to teach her a lesson," Lennard vowed.
