Well actually I was going thru a transitional phase as far as creativity. I was also going thru family problems, job woes, money issues, and a friend of mine said you should just call yourself Stress. I took the name and have been running with it every since
BLACKURBANTIMES: THE SONG ON YOUR MYSPACE PAGE CALLED "JERSEY" SOUNDS VERY GRITTY AND REAL..LIKE THE HORNS BLOWING AND EVERYTHING REALLY PUTS ME ON BROAD STREET IN BRICK CITY..HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THAT CONCEPT?
Well as you know, Im from Jersey. East Orange to be exact. Born in Newark. And got family all over this motherfucker.I really just felt like nobody has taken anyone on a ride thru New Jersey musically. So even when I did the track it needed to sound like New Jersey.
BLACKURBANTIMES: WHAT SOME PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU..IS THAT YOU ALSO PRODUCE BEATS..HOW DID YOU LEARN THAT CRAFT?
When we were in high school, I always wanted to do original songs.You know we used to take other peoples songs and do pause button samples. But my mom bought me a gemini ds 24 second sampler and a karaoke machine. It was all over from there.I figured that no one knew the music I wanted to rap on better than me
BLACKURBANTIMES: WHEN DID YOU MEET D.O.X. AND ARE YOU A TEAM LIKE SMIF-N-WESSUN OR MORE LIKE A WU-TANG?
The funny thing is that both of our families went to the same church for years,so even before recording together we have always been cool. ummmmmmm.......Musically we are both solo artists with our own respective movements ,but we come together for the cause.

I think the internet needs to be embraced by hip hop People keep complaining that people are not buying because of downloading. But there are so many ways to take ownership with the internet, how could you not wanna be part of it
