Two Newark men were taken into custody early this morning after police recovered $15,000 worth of narcotics, $2,400 in drug proceeds, and a 9mm handgun from one of the suspect's home at Irvine Turner Boulevard, authorities said.
Desmond Pittman, 27, and Sharif Patterson, 20, are facing multiple drug and weapons charges after the 6 a.m. raid at 604 Irvine Turner Boulevard, said Detective Todd McClendon, city police spokesman.
Officers from the police department's Emergency Services Unit and the Central Narcotics Division acted on a search warrant at Pittman's home, where they found 38 bricks of heroin, 50 grams of crack cocaine, $2400 in drug proceeds, and a 9mm handgun. McClendon said Pittman is a convicted felon currently on probation, but McClendon did not specify his previous offense. Source
