LOS ANGELES - A top restaurateur killed his unborn child with a hidden dose of an abortion drug, authorities believe.
Cops believe Joshua Woodward, a partner in Table 8 at New York's Cooper Square Hotel, gave his 13-weeks pregnant girlfriend Misoprostol, an affidavit obtained by TMZ.com reveals.
Woodward was arrested Oct. 25 on suspicion of murder in Los Angeles. He has not been formally charged.
The girlfriend reportedly said he put his hand in a plastic bag and touched her sexually just hours before she miscarried. She said she found white powder in her underwear, TMZ said.
Woodward, 37, could not be reached for comment.
His celebrity chef partner Govind Armstrong distanced himself from the murder suspect.
"They are no longer partners," Armstrong's spokeswoman Indra Clark told the Daily News.
