Wednesday, January 13, 2010, the Haitian community in New York City held a vigil in remembrance of the victims of the earthquake that devastated their country.

They gathered in "Little Haiti" located in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn.

The vigil was one of reflection, music, hope and a starting point for organizing the community's relief efforts. People from other Caribbean islands were there to show support.

On a cold night in Brooklyn, they came together to talk about their country, families and friends. They prayed and sang in English and Creole.
