They said the only thing standing between Mo'Nique and awards-season glory could be Mo'Nique herself. Well, it looks like the deciding committee didn't quite see it that way. They looked past her divadom and decided to turn the nod into a definite yea tonight.

For her portrayal of a nefarious and severely abusive mother in the movie "Precious" actress Mo'Nique has earned herself a Golden Globe award. The Baltimore native is on a roll with having been named the year's top supporting actress by the Boston and Los Angeles Society of Film Critics.

Some said the "Precious" star was anything but "precious" and Lionsgate executives would wholeheartedly agree. Just before the film made it's debut, Mo'Nique shunned promoting it or herself, for that matter and made demands for extremely high "show-fees," which were not paid.

Showbiz411.com first reported that the recently slimmed down comedian's "bad attitude and shameless demands for money may jeopardize her chance for Oscar glory." Then, a source for Amanda Sidman of GateCrasher, said that Mo'Nique's attitude was working against her and had exasperated studio chiefs who even called on Oprah and Tyler Perry to tame her diva 'tude. It was all in vain as Mo'Nique stuck to her guns.

"Mo'Nique said she signed on to do this film for a small amount of money. She said she didn't care about 'no Oscar' - all that mattered was 'those Benjamins!' Because Oprah and Tyler Perry are backing the film, she feels as though there should be a budget to pay for her promotional duties," the source explained.

Diva she may be, but anyone who saw the movie cannot deny that Mo'Nique's performance was exhilarating and certainly worthy of her award. Do we see an Oscar in her acting future? We shall soon know. Congrats to you, Mo'Nique.
