Brooklyn Bar Dust-up May Net FDNY Members Felony Charges

Things got saucy at the Salty Dog in Bay Ridge when more than two dozen active and retired New York firefighters allegedly attacked four civilians turning the bar into a momentary fight club.

Apparently the firefighters met earlier in the evening for an annual dinner at Two Toms Restaurant in Gowanus. After the dinner, many ended up at the Salty Dog for drinks.

The bar room dust-up, which left one of the victims with a series of broken bones, began after someone allegedly spilled a drink on one of the firemen.

A witness in the bar told the NY Post that the young man accidentally spilled a drink on the fireman and appeared to be apologizing to him when suddenly the victim was hit and other fireman joined in and began pummeling him.

They went after another man, a cousin of the victim, and began beating him as well. The bum rush spilled out into the street when the fireman allegedly ran after another victim who was trying to get away.

Officials say the men are current and past members Engine Co. 310 and Ladder Co. 174 in East Flatbush. The NYPD is investigating the incident and could charge the fire eaters with felonies once the investigation is complete.

The bar, which boasts a firehouse theme, has surveillance cameras inside and outside which caught the duke fest on video. No doubt those playbacks may aid in the conviction of those found responsible for the fight.

When contacted by the NY Post, the FDNY had no comment to offer.
