The sole survivor of the January 28 car crash that killed 22 year-old Chad Horne of Freehold, N.J., and two women is facing three counts of vehicular homicide while driving under the influence of alcohol.
Anthony Russell Bruno, 25, of Suncrest Lane in Bethlehem Township was arraigned on Tuesday and held at the Northampton County jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
District Judge Joseph Barner denied Bruno's attorney's request for unsecured bail.
Police say Bruno had a blood-alcohol content of 0.23, nearly three times the legal limit, the night of the car crash.
According to witnesses, Bruno's vehicle appeared to be in excess of the posted 40 mph speed limit on Easton Avenue before he hit the car carrying Horne and his two female passengers. Police say Bruno ran several red lights and illegally passed cars just before the fatal accident occurred.
Video footage from the Keystone Pub show Horne attempted to make a left turn onto Easton Avenue from Willow Park Road and had a green light before the accident.
Police are still trying to determine where Bruno was coming from and have a good idea, but still request that anyone with definitive information on details of the night of January 28 to call 610-814-6426.
"The death of these three individuals is a serious tragedy for our community," Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said.
Terri Buskirk, 43, who has addresses in both Lehigh Township and Bethlehem; and Robin Villegas, 52, of Staten Island, N.Y., were also killed in last week's crash in addition to Horne.
If convicted, Bruno, who is facing additional charges in relation to the Easton Avenue crash, faces nine to 30 years in prison
