Officials have released the recording of James Sikes frantic 911 call. He managed to dial 911 as his Prius barrled down Interstate 8 in excess of 90 MPH. Thanks to the quick actions of police, Sikes and no other motorists were injured.

It's another case of a faulty Toyota accelerator although Sikes, who took his car to a local dealership after he received a letter from Toyota saying his Prius was amongst the 8 million cars recalled for mecanical problems and was told that his car was not apart of the massive recall.

The Black Urban Times found an article stating that "media reports incorrectly reported that Toyota planned to announce a new recall for the 2004-2009 Prius to address the potential risk for floor mat entrapment of accelerator pedals."
The article stated that there was not going to be a new recall for the Prius.

"To be clear, the 2004-2009 Prius was (a) part of Toyota’s November 2, 2009 announcement of a voluntary safety recall campaign to address floor mat entrapment in certain Toyota and Lexus vehicles," read the statement. Click HERE to read it

Sikes, who is a member of the exclusive Corvette auto club, he reached down to dislodge the gas pedal on his 2008 Prius, but was unsuccessful.

I say it's a safe bet to assume Sikes will be cruising in his Corvette while Toyota repairs his sticky Prius.
