New York State Assemblyman, Adam Clayton Powell IV has been found guilty of Driving while intoxicated.
Powell, the son of Civil Rights leader and former congressman Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., was arrested two years ago after police say he was weaving and repeatedly tapping his brakes while driving along the West Side Highway.

An officer at the scene said Powell only blew a short breath, which may have thrown the test off, producing an inaccurate reading.
At that time, officers took Powell to the 28th precinct, where video shows him taking several balance tests before trying to decide whether he would submit to another breathalyzer test.
After officers warned the Assemblyman that his refusal would mean he would have to taken before a judge, they told the New York Post that Powell said, "I gotta wait to see the judge? You gotta be kidding. I’ll take the test. I’ll take the test. I’ll take the test.”
According to the New York Times, an officer then responded: “It’s a little too late.”
Powell, twice accused of sexual assault, may not face any jail time with the DWI conviction.
