Looks like more residents living along the construction path of the Second Avenue Subway line will have to uproot and stay in a hotel for at least a month, says the MTA.
The subway line along Second Avenue and 94th Street is subject to tunnel work as officials attempt to make repairs and it's just not safe for residents.
Residents in 28 apartments have been asked to make the temporary, but necessary move. No word on who's footing the hotel bill: the residents or the City. But they'll have to be out of their apartments within the next few weeks so that construction can begin, said MTA officials.
The grand total cost of the tunnel work is set to run between a whopping $6 to $8 million.
