NYFD officials continue to investigate an early morning Bronx fire that broke out in the basement of a West Farms neighborhood in the Bronx.

106 firemen responded to the blaze at 418 Bronx Park Avenue near East Tremont Avenue, which was brought under control within an hour and a half from the first call.

Four people, including a toddler were transported to Jacobi Hospital where they were listed in critical condition. One neighbor, Muffin Anderson, told the NY Post that she saw "skin hanging" from the arm of one of her neighbors who escaped the raging fire.

In all, eight people were injured and the Red Cross was caring for a total of 21 adults and four children displaced by the fire,The New York Post reported.

Flames from the fire spread to an adjacent home and a nearby storefront church.

39-year-old Alishame Gardner, a resident from the second floor, was pulled from the building after he awoke to a smoke-filled room. “The next thing I know, the firefighter knocked on the door, grabbed my arm, told me to hold my breath and dragged me out of the building.”
