Rats Running Rampant in New York City Park

Tourists and locals alike are in a fury over the swarm of rats, some as big as rabbits, running rampant in New York City's Grand Army Plaza Park. The park, located near Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, is a stone's throw from the world-renowned Plaza hotel.

A City Parks Department spokesman told the New York Daily News that Central Park Conservancy officials have not received any complaints about the nasty critters, and added that the Department is on the lookout.
A reporter from the NY Daily News went to see just how bad the alleged rat infestation has become, and found the rodents feasting on remnants of horse feed, not garbage or many of the homeless that call the park their temporary homes. As a matter of fact, the newspaper said the sidewalks were "relatively clean of trash and the wire-mesh trash pails were lined with heavy black bags."

Nonetheless, James Keivom snapped several photographs of the rats throughout the park. Like the tourists, food vendors and handsome cab drivers say they're grossed out by the rats whom have increased over the past two years according to Adrian Livingston.
