Former Knots Landing actor, Alec Baldwin was kicked off a New York bound American Airlines flight today after refusing to follow the orders of a flight attendant.

The tarmac turbulence came as a result of the 53-year-old award winning actor apparently refusing to turn off his iPad. Baldwin, who hosted the 82nd Academy Awards with Steve Martin in 2010, was playing the game, "WORDS W FRIENDS" as he and other passengers waited for the flight to leave the gate at LAX. The unidentified flight attendant asked Baldwin to shut off the device and when he refused, she gave him the boot, the NY Daily News reported.

Baldwin later tweeted, "Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving..." followed by hash tag "nowonderamericaairisbankrupt."
The actor was later booked on another American Airlines flight, but this may not be the end of it since the "30 Rock" star reportedly demanded the name of the flight attendant.

The hoopla hit the Internet with lightening speed after several passengers including former MTV president Michael J. Wolfe all tweeted the incident to millions of followers:

“On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane We had to go back to the gate. Terrible that everyone had to wait,” tweeted Wolfe.

Matthew Hiltzik, Baldwin's representative, told NBC News his client loves the word game so much that he took the risk of getting kicked off the flight. American Airline representatives refused to comment on the situation citing privacy concerns of customers.

Baldwin, a native New Yorker who now lives in the SoHo District, has starred in films such as, "The Marrying Man," "Prelude to a Kiss" with Meg Ryan, and his 2001 smash hit, "Pearl Harbor." The Long Island native played the role of Lt. Col. James Doolittle. The flick netted $449,220,945 worldwide and remains the highest grossing film of Baldwin's acting career.
